She was born July 10, 1935, in Heber, to Lola Hannah Mayoh and Milton Steven Anderson. She married Boyd Young on Jan. 8, 1954.
Barbara loved and welcomed everyone into her home and heart and no one went away hungry. She had many favorite things including a big vegetable and flower garden, making lovely quilts, canning, cooking for everyone, wind chimes, knick knacks, birds, butterflies, and anything pretty. She enjoyed camping, treasure hunting, and especially her family.
She is survived by her husband, Boyd; children, JoAnn (Earnest) Chandler; Glen (Karren) Young; Beverly (Shawn) Keel; grandchildren, Nancy and Christopher Taylor; Keith, Jason, and Adam Young, Chelsey and Kelly Keel; 4 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by a brother and a sister and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at the Altamont LDS Stake Center. Friends and family may call on Thursday at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and from 10-10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.
Burial will be in the Altonah Cemetery.
