MONDAY, JULY 29, 1974

COLORADO CITY ~~ Jackson Ellis, 83, died Sunday at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the 22nd and Austin Street Church of Christ.

Gene Johnston, minister will be assisted by Eddie Swinny, minister of the Northside Church of Christ in officiating the services. Burial will be in the Dunn Cemetery directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Born May 1, 1892, in Callahan County, he had been a resident of Dunn for 58 years and was a retired farmer. He married Bertha Chandler November 30, 1913 in Dunn. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Julia Fox of Dunn; Jackson P. of Snyder, Jeff, Ather and Buck of Colorado City, Othal of Dunn and Wayne of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Wright Huddleston of Snyder, Mrs. Bama Murphy of Andrews and Mrs. Cloe Cox of Donna; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family requests that memorial gifts be made in the form of contributions to children's homes.
