Mrs. Gay Emelene Kinney, age 42 yrs., wife of Robert Kinney, of Waynesburg, died at 11:15am, Saturday, April 8, 1939, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Kinney was born September 8, 1896 in Richhill Twnshp, a daughter of the late Asa M. Hughes and Emelene Scott Hughes. She had spent all her life in Greene County, residing in Waynesburg the past three years. She was married September 12, 1918 to Robert S. Kinney, who survives. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Robert Stoy Kinney Jr., and Asa Keith Kinney, at home, and a daughter, Mrs. Gwendolyn Bissett, also at home. Also surviving are a grandson, Gary Kinney, and the following brothers and sisters: W.R. Hughes, of Cameron, WVa.; G. S. Hughes, Mrs. Elizabeth Headley, Mrs. Fern Houston, and Miss Myrtle Hughes, all of Wind Ridge; Mrs. Dulcie Null, of Dean Valley, and Mrs. Pearl Lemley, of Waynesburg.

Gay Kinney was my grandmother.
