Mrs. Thomas C. Burke

Mrs. Carrie Veal Burke, age 80, of 506 Stone Ave., Roanoke, passed away in a Franklin, Ga., hospital at ten o'clock Thursday morning, July 30.
Mrs. Burke is survived by her husband, Thomas C. Burke; two daughters, Miss Ruth Burke and Mrs. W.P. Towler of Roanoke; one son, Ernest Burke of LaGrange; three brothers, Jesse H. Veal of LaGrange, O.T. Veal of Huguley, and Bobby Veal of Roanoke; one sister, Mrs. Sam Manley of Roanoke; and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Burke were conducted Saturday afternoon at three o'clock from the Springfield Baptist Church, with the Rev. O.D. Boyd and the Rev. Gary Ward officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Quattlebaum's Brown Service Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
