Mr. Harry F. Walk, DSN 2381, was a Detective for the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department Patrolman Walk was employed by the Police Department beginning on October 1, 1917 as a telephone operator in district 3, and subsequently became a clerk on 11/15/1918 in district 6. Detective Walk received his commission on 08/07/1925. Officer Walk became a member of the detective bureau and was assigned to the Secret Service Division at Headquarters.. He was also on the gambling squad for many years. When the subversive squad was organized in World War II, he was appointed to the group and remained until it became the “Fugitive and Special investigations Unit".

Detective Walk had suffered from cancer of the abdominal cavity and lungs and died at De Paul Hospital on 07/26/1958.

Officer Walk served a total of 40 years, 9 months, and 26 days of faithful and dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Detective Walk left to mourn his passing his wife Mrs. Mary E. Walk, and a daughter of the home located at 4696 (a) West Florissant Ave.

Detective Walk was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Harvey "Curtis" and Lena R. (nee Colvin) Walk.

Detective Walk was the brother of Sergeant Chester E. Walk, DSN 2379, and Officer Elvin E. Walk, DSN 2380, who both served on the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

The wake for Detective Walk was held at the Math & Herman Funeral Home located at 2161 E. Fair.

Burial was held at Calvary Cemetery on 07/29/1958.
