"Mrs. Katherine Widomen, 83, widow of Jeremiah Widoman, died at her home on West Main street, Cobleskill, Monday afternoon, February 26, from a stroke, suffered a few weeks ago, and complications. Mrs. Widomen was born October 3, 1856, at Gilboa, the daughter of Stephen and Sophia Keyser Hitchcock. She married Jeremiah Widomen and they began housekeeping in Blenheim. Before her marriage she was a school teacher. Most of their married life was spent in this village where Mr. Widomen owned the grocery business now operated by the Moore and Karker firm. Mr. Widowmen died here on March 29, 1929. She was a member of Zion Lutheran church, Ladies' Auxiliary and other organizations of the church. Funeral services will be held at the Lutheran church this Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Morris C. Skinner officiating. Interment will be in the Cobleskill cemetery. Mrs. Widomen is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Granby, and a niece, Mrs. David Ellerson, both of Blenheim and by several other nieces and nephews."
