Martha was the daughter of John Gibbs and Elizabeth (Jones) Chase. She married (1) Henry Harold 'Sam' Barter in 1940. She later married married (2) (unknown) Brady. No known children from either union.

Martha Lillian 'Peggy' Brady was born October 24, 1922, in Anna, the daughter of John Gibbs and Elizabeth Jones Chase.

She died at 4:20 a.m. Friday, September 25, 1987, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. She was a former resident of Anna and had been living in Wheaton the last few years.

She was a secretary for the U.S. Life Insurance Co. and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wheaton.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Ellen Coffman of Anna, Susan Nasser of Joilet, two brothers, Don Chase and Mike Chase, both of Wheaton and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 1987 at the Lute and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Christine Erdmann, pastor of the Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna officiating.

Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery.

Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, was in charge of the arrangements.
