Irene McMillan was born on March 9, 1925 in a farmhouse on what later became the Skelly Ranch near Catoosa, Oklahoma to James S. and Pearl (Cagle) Williams. She was the youngest of four children born to that union.
She was married to Alvie Leonard McMillan in Catoosa in 1941. Alvie and Irene were the parents of two children: Nedra Yvonne and Leonard Wayne.
Irene was a lifelong resident of Catoosa, and she was a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation. She was a homemaker, a meat cutter at Humpty Dumpty Supermarket, and an election official for the Rogers County Election Board.
She was preceeded in death by her husband Alvie in 1991, her sisters Ailene Williams, Ada(Williams) Ladd, Betty (Pruitt) Fox, and Margaret (Pruitt) Kirk, grandson Wayne McMillan and great grandson Brian Raley and her brother Kenneth Williams.
Survivors include daughter, Nedra and husband Tom Williams of Catoosa; son Leonard and wife Regina of Joplin MO; granddaughter, Kelly and husband John Raley of Houston, TX; grandson, David Williams and wife Lauren of Tulsa; granddaughter, Terri and husband Larry Wright of Catoosa; granddaughter, Sherri Jackson of Catoosa; and grandson Leonard McMillan of Catoosa.
Additionally, she is survived by four step grandchildren,eight great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 A.M. Monday 1/25/2010 at the First Baptist Church in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Services Entrusted to Moore's Eastlawn Chapel 1908 S. Memorial. 918-622-1155.
