Bertha M. Maurer, 95, of Connersville, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 20, 2010, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind., where she had been a patient since Saturday. She had been a resident at Arbor Trace in Richmond.

She was born June 23, 1914, in Posey Township, Ind., one of three daughters of James K. and Nellie Manlove Mason.

On Oct. 11, 1933, she married Gail W. Maurer and they had farmed in Harrison Township until Mr. Maurer's death on June 4, 1984.

She was a member of Harrisburg Union Church and the Rannah Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include a son, James A. Maurer and wife Janet of Bourbon, Ind.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; and a sister, Mary McClure of Richmond.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Donald L. Maurer and Maurice K. Maurer, and a sister, Elsa Cramer.

Funeral services will be conducted by her grandson, the Rev. Dehner Maurer, Saturday at 3 p.m. at Miller, Miller, Moster Robbins Funeral Home, where friends may call on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Memories Mausoleum in Connersville.
