Jerome Anthony Cox, 47, of Connersville died Saturday morning, Jan. 16, 2010, in Reid Hospital, Richmond, Ind.

He was born Aug. 7, 1962, in Connersville, one of five children of William T. and Betty Jane Trabel Cox Sr., and was a graduate of Connersville High School in 1981.

He had served with the U. S. Army. For more than 18 years, he was employed at Visteon.

On Nov. 8, 1997, he was married in Laurel to Inez Serena Madden of Laurel. Mrs. Cox survives.

He was a member of Blooming Grove Family Worship Center. An avid reader, he especially enjoyed reading books on history or geography and loved to spend time with his precious daughter, Bria.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Serena Cox of Connersville; his daughter, Bria Cox at home; his father, William T. Cox Sr. of Connersville; four brothers, Wilbur J. Cox and wife Becky of Connersville, Garry Cox of Portland, Ind., William T. Cox Jr. of Richmond and Mark A. Cox and wife Davida of Connersville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jimmy and Ilene Madden of Laurel, Ind.; two sisters-in-law, Liz Estes of Connersville and Teresa Baker of Laurel; three brothers-in-law, Jimmy Madden and wife Mary Beth of Laurel, Jason Madden and Jeremy Madden of Connersville; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Cox, who died Oct. 25, 2001.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blooming Grove Family Worship Center with Pastor Tom Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Everton Cemetery.
