Lou Ida Belle Miller was the youngest daughter of Elijah Spencer Miller and Harriet Curbow. She was the grandaughter of James Turner Miller and Tilman P. Curbow. As a young girl she moved from Texas to what was then Indian Territory (Oklahoma) with her parents. On 27 Jan 1907 she married Jessie Monroe Mason in Carter County, Oklahoma. They had one daughter - Jessie Isabell Mason. Her husband died young and Lou Ida Bell remarried in 1912 to James Monroe Watson. The couple had the following children: Minnie, Bonnie, John, Ruby Pauline, Willie Mae and James Thomas. After he husband's death in 1933, the family left for Arizona where Lou Ida Bell lived out the rest of her life surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
