Arnold F. Seewer, 79; Korean War Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient
Funeral services for Arnold F. Seewer, 79, of New Albany, will be at noon Friday, July 3, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.
He was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Stanford, Ky., to the late Lena F. and Alfred Seewer, Sr. He was retired from General Electric Appliance Park in Louisville. He was an Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient from the Korean War. He was a life member of Hobart Beach Post 1693 Veterans of Foreign Wars and member of New Beginnings Community Church in New Albany.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Saddler Seewer; sons, Keith Seewer and his wife, Patricia, of New Albany, Jeffrey Seewer and his wife, Kelly, of Morehead, Ky., and John Seewer and his wife, Meloney, of New Albany; daughter, Brenda Stepp and her husband, Mike, of New Albany; brothers, Herman Seewer and his wife, Jeanette, Julius Seewer and his wife, Donna, all of Greenville, Oscar Seewer and Alfred Seewer Jr. and his wife, Mildred, all of Floyds Knobs; grandchildren, Michael Jr., Jeffrey Jr., Benjamin, Jessica, Ashley, Angela, Steven, Charles, Breanna, Tyler and Jordyn; and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Chris, Jayden, Steven, Jr., Courtney, Tara, Caitlyn and Chas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Harry, Alvin, Albert and Edmund.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
