Alvina Caroline Maigatter Johnson Koenig, age 101, of Richland Center, passed away quietly at the Richland Hospital in Richland Center, on January 19, 2010, after a short illness.

Alvina was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1908, to Charles and Anna Plohar Maigatter.

She Graduated from Hamilton High School in Two Rivers in 1926, and worked in the office of the Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company until her marriage to Gunnard Johnson in 1935.

Gunnard's work with the Commonwealth Telephone Company took them to Beloit, Denmark, Chilton and finally to Richland Center in 1948. Gunnard died in 1972. Alvina later married Elmer Koenig.

Alvina was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother who took an active part in her family's interest and activities.

Alvina was a great cook and was still making the family Christmas cookies at the age of 99. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and took part in many church activities.

She will be greatly missed by her family which includes: her daughter Carole (Don) Troxel of Richland Center, her
stepson Charles (Delores) Koenig of Rockton, Illinois, five grandchildren: William (Kim) Morgan of Cross Plains, Rick Morgan of Richland Center, David (Dianne) Morgan of West Allis, Linda (Paul) Norris, and Robert (Jude) Koenig, all of Rockton, Illinois.

Alvina is further survived by four great grandchildren: Linnea Morgan, Mike Morgan, Lisa (Jarrad) Johnson, Tia Koenig, two great great grandchildren: Jarrett Johnson, Grant Johnson, her sister: Evelyn Baugniet of Manitowoc, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Alvina was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, and three siblings: Ione Krueger, Eugene, Maigatter, and Charles Maigatter, Jr.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Richland Center, with Pastor Kenneth Halstead officiating.

Burial will be held at the Richland Center Cemetery.

Friends may call at Saint John's Lutheran Church on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M.

The family suggests memorials be directed to Sint John's Lutheran Church in memory of Alvina.

The Pratt Funeral Service of Richland Center assisted the family with their arrangements.
