"OBITUARY"


Mrs. Ivey Jane Baughman, 82, died at 1 p.m. Friday in her home at 314 West Oakridge avenue.
The body may be viewed at the Stiver funeral home, 506 South Fifth street, until 9:30 a.m. Monday. It then will be taken to the home, where the service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday by Rev, Claud Studebaker of the First Brethren church. Burial will be in Oakridge cemetery.
The deceased, whose family name was Crume, was born Oct. 21, 1858 on a farm near Rome City, and her marriage to Marion J. Baughman took place Jan. 17, 1875. They lived in Noble county untill 1898, when they moved to a farm three miles east of Elkhart. Later they lived on a place miles northeast of Goshen, locating in the Oakridge avenue home 20 years ago. Mr. Baughman died March 26, 1929.
Surviving are five children, Mrs. J. M. (Arminda) Pinchon of Baldwin, Mich., J. F. Baughman of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Charles (Edith) Elder of Edwardsburg, Mich., Mrs. John (Clara) Groves of Elkhart and Lester G. Baughman of Chicago. There are three grandchildren, L. Rex Baughman of Cleveland, OH., and Patricia Shupert of Chicago, and one great-grandson, Thomas Charles Shupert of Chicago.
Mrs. Baughman was a direct descendant of Jesse L. Richards, who was an officer in the Revolutionary army. Two of her brothers served in the Civil war and her son Lester Baughman served in the American Expeditionary Force in the World war.
