Funeral services held Sunday for Mrs. Nellie Smith

Funeral services were held Sunday morning at the graveside for Mrs. Nellie Smith, 84, of the Green's Creek Community, who died Friday afternoon at the Jefferson Davis County Hospital. Rev. Charlie Nobles and Rev. Tommy Farve officiated and interment followed in the Old Green's Creek Cemetery with Saulters Funeral Home in charge. Nephews served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of the Green's Creek area where she was a member of the Green's Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Mildred Smith, Ovett Smith, McKinley Smith all of Carson, RFD; Isiah Smith of Oakvale RFD; Charles Ralph Smith of Pierceton, Ind.; four daughters, Mrs. Charlie Nobles of Sumrall; Mrs. Alvin Nations of Silver Creek; Mrs. Reggie Dyess of Carson; Mrs. L. C. Vaughn of Nashville, Tenn.; a large number of grandchildren and one brother, Joe Dyess of Carson.
