Jacqueline G. "Jackie" LaChapelle, 76, widow of Arthur LaChapelle, of Forest Lane, Cumberland, formerly of Coplin Plantation, passed away at Hospice of Southern Maine on Saturday, Jan. 16, surrounded by all of her children and family. She was born Sept. 13, 1933, in Mexico, a daughter of John and Agnes (LaCroix) Waugh, received her education in the Mexico school system and graduated in 1951. She married George Jamison and they raised four children in Rangeley.
Mrs. LaChapelle worked for many years as a social worker for Western Maine Community Action in Franklin County until her retirement. She was an avid reader, and a phenomenal card player, and she loved to go fishing.
She is survived by her four children; her stepmother; two sisters; two brothers; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; both parents; a sister, Carol Pratt of Gorham, N.H.; and a brother, Greg Waugh of Mexico.
