Mrs. Lewis was born on October 29, 1934 in Hendersonville, NC. During her younger years she competed in horseback riding and graduated High School from West Mecklenburg High School.
Shortly thereafter, she married her husband, Ted Lewis. Together, they would travel extensively to Germany, Spain, and Greece and attended Thomasboro Presbyterian Church.
Patti worked for over 20 years as a legal secretary with several firms in Charlotte.
Mrs. Lewis had a love and passion for the well being of animals. In 1978, she founded The Humane Society of Charlotte where she would oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations. She also introduced the first low cost spay and neuter clinic to Charlotte. When she wasn't working for animals, she enjoyed feeding her ducks twice a day at the pond behind her house. Although she has left us and will be missed by all who knew her, her legacy and love for animals will live on.
Patti is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ted Lewis. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 20th at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church on Hwy. 160. with the Rev. Valerie H. Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
