Elizabeth Zimmerman of West Chester

Elizabeth Jane Zimmerman, 81, of West Chester, died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at Barclay Friends in West Chester.

Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Harold I. and Ruth Rahn Zimmerman.

She was an office manager for Bell Telephone Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1980, working in the Philadelphia, Coatesville and West Chester offices.

She lived in West Chester her entire life and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, of which she was a former deacon.

She was a 1943 graduate of West Chester High School and attended Drexel University.

She is survived by two sisters, the Honorable Dr. Elinor Z. Taylor of West Chester and Ellen Z. Hines of Stuart, Fla.; two nieces, Brenda Proulx of Attleboro, Mass., and Barbara Zarrella of Bethlehem, Conn.; a nephew, H. Eric Hines of Mesa, Ariz.; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 14, at 11 a.m. at the Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery, 1235 Birmingham Road, West Chester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 W. Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, PA 19382; or to Neighborhood Hospice, 795 E. Marshall St., Suite 204, West Chester, PA 19380.
