Thomas Pitts Rogers was the seventh child born to James Carroll Rogers, b. 1835, TX and Nancy Elizabeth (Howard) Rogers, b. TX 1837 in Groesbeck, Limestone Co., TX. He married Florence Virginia Womack on 8 Sep 1888 in Stephenville, Erath Co., TX. By 1889, their first child, Jesse Everett Rogers, was born in Dublin, Erath Co., TX and by 1890 this Rogers family had moved into the Chickasaw Indian Territory of OK. Seven more children were born to this couple while living in OK and their last was born in 1913 after their move to Calexico, Imperial Co., TX. Thomas was a cotton farmer and news came that better farming land and a higher grade of cotton could be found in California. This prompted the move of several of the Rogers and Womack families to Southern California. The J. A. Harris Ginning Company erected a gin there and several in the family worked managing farms and growing cotton. When the Harris Ginning Company built a new gin near Porterville, Tulare Co., CA the company moved a group of farmers and their families to the new cotton growing area. Thomas and his family made the move to Tulare Co. around 1922 or so. Wife Florence died in 1932 and Thomas made his home with his youngest daughter, Mabel. He died in Dec 1939 and is buried with many family members in the Woodville Cemetery, Tulare Co., CA
