FORT WAYNE — Nancy C. Beeney, 65, 2194 E. Singer Road, North Manchester, died at 9:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at Parkview Hospital.

She was born on March 23, 1938, in Roann, to Frank "Pete" Sherman and Mary Jane (Yarian) Baker. Her mother survives in Roann. She married William S. Beeney on July 6, 1956. He survives.

She graduated from Roann High School in 1956. She was employed at Eaton Controls Company, North Manchester, for 28 years, and enjoyed the many friends she made during her years there. She also was a seamstress and enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.

She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Warsaw, and a member of the Eagles Lodge and the American Legion Post No.286, both in North Manchester.

Also surviving are three sons, Mike (Melita) Beeney, South Bend, and Shawn (Sara) Beeney and Jeff (Debbie) Beeney, both of North Manchester; two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Melissa) Williams, Disko, and Mrs. John (Teresa) Bakehorn, Warsaw; a sister, Mrs. B.G. (Margaret) Warford, Wabash; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A sister, Cozy Engle, is deceased.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary North Manchester Chapel. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to services Tuesday. Preferred memorials are to the Wabash County Cancer Society.
