Mrs. T. J. Hardcastle

Mrs. Annie Hardcastle, wife of T.J. Hardcastle, died at her home at Black Creek early Tuesday morning after a long illness and much suffering. Her maiden name was Thrailkill. The family had lived on the old farm for about 35 years where they reared to marriage 8 daughters and 6 sons, all of whom survive, with many grandchildren and some great grandchildren.
Deceased was 62 years old and a consistent member of the Primitive Baptist church.
The funeral was very large and was conducted by Rev. A.G. Blackwell of San Antonio at the family burying ground, the Black Creek cemetery.

Mernerva was the daughter of Anderson Monroe Thrailkill and Celia Henson. She is the sister of Ellen Darcus Thrailkill who married Hugh Hardcastle.
She married Theophilus Jackson "Offie" Hardcastle, Sr 15 Dec 1869 in Milam county, TX. Hugh and Offie were brothers.
Mernerva was the mother of 16 children all linked below except William Monroe, Isiah Jackson, and T.J. Jr.
