Oscar O. Wangeman Aged 88 Years Died Tuesday
"Oscar O. Wangeman, aged 88 years, passed away at his home in East Jordan, Tuesday, Oct. 11th, following several years illness.
Mr. Wangeman was born at Jena, Germany, in 1846, his parents being Bertha and Frantz Wangeman. In 1867 he was united in marriage to Caroline Saxon at Erfort, Germany. They came to the United States in 1879, locating at Joliet, Ill., where they resided for three years. In 1882 they came to Charlevoix County, locating at Boyne Falls, where they engaged in farming for many years. Mrs. Wangeman passed away in 1918 (should be 1919). Mr. Wangeman resided at Boyne City for a few years and for the past three years making his home in East Jordan with his daughter, Mrs. Anna Meyer, who came here from Pasadena, Calif., to help care for him in his declining years. He was a member of the Lutheran church.
Deceased is survived by a son and two daughters - Frank Wangeman of East Jordan; Mrs. Bertha Mitchell of Detroit; and Mrs. Anna Meyers of Pasadena, Calif.
Funeral services were held from the Boyne City Funeral Home Thursday afternoon, Sept. 13th, conducted by Rev. C. W. Sidebotham, pastor of the East Jordan Presbyterian church. Burial was at the Boyne Falls cemetery."

According to famly, Oscar lived in Pinckney, Mi for a while near his grandson, William Meyer. He was described as a very independent person even with being in his older years.

Research indicates that Oscar had 3 sisters:
