John Warren BUTT, 89, Deedsville, died at 4:45 a.m. today in Woodlawn hospital. He had been ill three months. Born June 3, 1880, in Perry township, he was the son of Samuel and Martha FITES BUTT. His first marriage was to Maude TOMBAUGH in September, 1903. She died in 1913. His second marriage was to Ada OLDS on March 13, 1916. She died Dec. 3, 1958. A retired schoolteacher, Mr. Butt had resided in the Deedsville area his entire life. He taught school in Miami county 51 years. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic lodge at Gilead and a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist church. Surviving are two sons, Don W. BUTT and M. Dale BUTT, both of Huntington; two grandchildren; one brother, Bliss BUTT, of Boca Raton, Fla. Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Ebenezer United Methodist church east of Deedsville. The Revs. George HAPNER and Norman NIGHTINGALE will officiate. Burial will be in the Ebenezer church cemetery where Masonic graveside rites will be conducted. Friends may call at the McCain Country Chapel at U.S. 31 and Ind. 16 after 2 p.m. Friday and at the church one hour prior to services.
