NEWPORT — Gail A. Palmer, 65, died Friday at a Pittsfield Hospital following a short illness. She was born in Plymouth, July 25,1926, the daughter of William G. and Augusta (Stevens) Whitley.
She was married to Kenneth Palmer who died in 1990.
She was employed at the Snowflake Canning Company in Corinna for many years and was also employed at Banton Brothers, Inc. of Newport for several years.
She is survived by: one brother, George Whitley of Durham; two sisters, Margurite Tibbetts of Fairfield, and Edna Chase of Unity; several nieces, nephews and cousins. (Morning Sentinel)
