Last Will And Testament of George Pollard Butler

In the name of God, Amen. I George Pollard Butler of the County of Amite & State of Mississippi being of sound and disposing mind & memory but being in feeble health and knowing that is allotted to all men once to die do make ordain publish and _ this instrument of writing to be my Last Will & Testament in manner and form as follows hereby revoking, annulling and making rid all former wills by me at my time heretofor made. First. I will and direct that all my just debts and Funeral and Testamentary Expenses may be paid by my Executor herein after named with all convenient speed after my decease. Second. I will devise & bequeath unto my grand son John Pollard Butler son and child of my beloved son George _. Butler now deceased one note of hand made by the said George _ Butler in his lifetime as principal and John _ as security for the sum of fourteen hundred dollars and fifty-five cents dated the Fifteenth day of December AD 185_ and due on or before the first day of January Eighteen Hundred and fifty five. The above bequest is intended to be and is so understood to be to be the entire share and interest of said grand son John Pollard Butler in my Estate. Third. I will that as soon after my decease as may be deemed expedient that my Executor hereafter named is to sell all of my remaining estate both real and personal by giving sixty days notice in three public places & that he is not to apply to the Probate Court for any authority whatever and that he the said executor is to give a bonafied title to all of my property so sold both real and personal and out of said proceeds he is to pay to Emeline S. Short the sum of seventy five dollars, and to Orra H. Whittington the sum of seventy five dollars, and to the heirs of Eveline _ Whittington deceased the sum of seventy five dollars, and to the heirs of Eliza P. Short deceased the sum of sixty three dollars it making my daughters equal in advancements heretofore made to my sons. And the remainder of my estate I will that my executor _ to be equally divided between Decatur _ Butler, Orra H. Whittington and the children of Young G. Butler deceased and the children of Eliza P. Sort dec and the children of Eveline _ Whittington deceased and Emeline S. Short. Fourth_ I hereby nominate ,constitute and appoint my beloved son Decatur P. Butler sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this the _rd day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & sixty. George P.
