Philip Kirchner, 96 Park Rapids, April 19, 1904 - Oct. 13, 2000 - Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Two Inlets, for Philip Henry Kirchner, 96, of Park Rapids, who died Friday, at St. Joseph's Area Hospital, Park Rapids. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home, Park Rapids, and one hour before services Monday at the church in Two Inlets. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Park Rapids. Philip Kirchner was born to Leonard and Anna (Riedel) Kirchner in Spring Hill, where he was raised and educated. In the late 1920s, he moved to Milwaukee and worked in construction. He later moved to Spring Hill and married Irene Winter on June 20, 1933, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Beaulieu. The couple farmed in the Spring Hill area for 27 years. In 1960, they retired from farming and purchased a grocery store in Two Inlets. They ran the store until 1973. He was an active member of the St Mary's Catholic Church in Two Inlets. Survivors include daughters Agnes Plumhoff of Benson; Dolores Spaeth of Mound; Viola Moorhouse of Elk River; Rose Forbes of Yakima, Wash.; sons, Gerald of Grey Eagle, and David of Minnetonka; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and sister Mary of Crystal. He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Philip, Jr.; four brothers, four sisters and a grandson.
