Leonard Kirchner, 91, of Spring Hill, died Monday at his home after an illness of eight weeks. He was retired from farming and carpentry. He was born in Richmond Nov. 16, 1865, and spent most of his life in Spring Hill. He had been school treasurer of District 38 for many years, village clerk and councilman until recently, postmaster for a number of years and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Melrose. He married Anna Riedel Nov. 14, 1893, at Spring Hill. She survives with the following children: Mrs. Anna Aigner, Minneapolis; Edward, Leonard and Arnold of Milwaukee, Wis.; Philip, Spring Hill; Mary, Minneapolis; Margaret at home and Francis, Sauk Centre. Two daughters preceded him in death. There are 30 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the family home Wednesday afternoon and until the lime of the funeral. Funeral services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's church, Spring Hill. Arrangements are being made by Schoenecker's funeral home in Melrose.
