Mary E. Bradley was born in Ireland in 1832 to parents Michael Bradley (1783-1872), and Bridget Murray (1800-1883), both born in Ireland.

Mary was the third child in a family of eight children. Her brothers and sisters were: John Bradley (ca 1824-1896), Patrick J. Bradley (ca 1826-1910), Michael C. Bradley (1833-1900), Dennis Bradley (ca 1834-1898), Annie Bradley-Henry (1838-1904), Bridget Bradley-O'Riell (??-??), and James H. Bradley (1845-1906), all born in Ireland.

The family came to America in 1850, settling first in Harford County, Maryland, then after the Civil War, most moved to Cambria County, Pennsylvania.

On Sep 26, 1852, Mary married Patrick Michael Kearney, born in Ireland (1828-1882). They were married in Long Green, Baltimore County, Maryland in the St. John the Evangelist Church. Patrick was the son of Francis Kearney (1787-1855), and Bridget Alice Bradley (1787-1889), both born in Ireland and both died in Maryland.

Patrick and Mary settled into a life of farming in the Harford and Baltimore Counties of Maryland. This couple had eleven children: Bridget Cecilia Kearney (1854-1938), Francis John Kearney (1855-1938), Mary Ann Kearney-Hagan (1857-1885), Andrew J. Kearney (1858-1916), Michael Joseph Kearney (1860-1903), John Edward Kearney (1861-), Bernard Thomas Kearney (1864-1937), Dennis Joseph Kearney (1866-1922), Matilda E. Kearney (1871-1917), Anna Louisa Kearney-Shanahan (1872-1930), and Joseph Edward Kearney (1874-1874), all born in Maryland.

After her husband died, Mary lived with her son John and his family in Baltimore, Maryland.

Both Mary and Patrick are buried in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.
