MRS. A. BROWN DIES IN DIXON AT 81; RITES HELD TODAY
Deceased Was Step-mother of Attorney U. W. Brown of This City
Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock this afternoon in Dixon for Mrs. Ada Brown, step-mother of Attorney U. W. Brown of Colusa and mother of Mrs. Willis Dunlap of Sites, Mrs. Henry Kraft of Maxwell and George A. Simpson of Dixon, who died at the home of her son in Dixon Monday evening after a brief illness.
Mrs. Brown was a former Colusa county resident, having lived west of Maxwell from 1900 to 1910. Her husband, the late William D. Brown, father of Attorney U. W. Brown, died in 1906. Four years later went to Dixon to make her home with her son Geo. A. Simpson.
Mrs. Brown had been in failing health for about a year. She had visited in Maxwell and Colusa on many occasions and claimed a wide circle of friends here.
Mrs. Brown was about 81 years of age at the time of death. Her passing is deeply regretted and the sympathy of the county goes out to the children and relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Lovelace Brown, Mrs. Harmon Albery, and William Miles went to Dixon to attend the funeral services this afternoon.
