Baseball Player. He played college baseball and was also a football punter for the University of Georgia. He was named captain of the 1927 Bulldogs football team known as the Dream and Wonder Team and also the captain of the baseball team. Also in 1927 he was named All-Southern and All-America in football. In 1931 he played with the Detroit Tigers and in 1934 with the Cincinnati Reds both of Major League Baseball. In 1936 he worked with the San Diego Padres and coached football part time. After baseball, he returned to Georgia and coached football in Savannah, Georgia. From 1937-1941 we worked as the head coach and athletic director of Armstrong Junior College near Savannah. From 1941-1952 he coached at Savannah High School and leading them to a state title in 1942.
