BRAUER - Harold E. Brauer, 64, 9151 Edwardsville Road, Winnebago, died at 9:43 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1982, in his home after a long illness. Born Sept. 20, 1917, in Winnebago, son of Oscar and Jessie Pollard Brauer. Lived all his life on the family farm, which he worked. Married to the former Lueva I. Parker in Messiah Lutheran Church, Rockford, Feb. 9, 1940. Member of First Presbyterian Church of Winnebago and served as Trustee and elder; also member of Winnebago County Farm Bureau, Illinois Holstein Association and Boone-Winnebago Holstein Club. He had owned and flew his own airplane for many years. Graduated from Winnebago High School, class of 1935. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Randy, Rockford, Parker and Allyn, both of Winnebago; two daughters, Cherie and Connie, both of Winnebago; five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Leonard (Marjorie) Carmichael, Rochelle. Predeceased by a twin sister, Helen Gieske, and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Brauer in March, 1981.
Services at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, in First Presbyterian Church, Winnebago, with the Rev. William E. Butler, pastor, officiating. Burial in Winnebago Cemetery. Arrangements by Genandt Funeral Home, 601 Winnebago Road, Winnebago, IL. A memorial has been established for First Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers.
