Taken from Western Pioneer Days by Ethel Rea Corbett: Born in East Troy, Wisconsin May 31, 1861 died Nov. 2, 1925. Came to Colorado with parents followed various lines of work on farms and as a carpenter; widely known as a peace officer of Elbert County, for twelve years, first as deputy under sheriff and later sheriff. He moved to Denver in 1899 became assistant superintendent of the Western Division of Pinkerton National Detective Agency serving 18 years. later with Homestock Mining Co Lead, South Dakota.
