I am a genealogy volunteer. I found more information about Aaron Carver thru ancestry.com : He enlisted 2-23-1862 and died 7-3-1879. He mustered out on 1-4-1863 Company D, 3rd Calvary Regiment, Wisconsin 2-23-1862 (Corporal). He received a disability discharge on 1-4-1863 (from being wounded?). William Mansion purchased Aaron's headstone on 1-21-1883. Village Cemetery in El Paso County comes up so I'm wondering if Aaron was moved to Elbert Cemetery later? It's sad to think he didn't have a headstone for 3+ years. He's listed in the 1870 cenus as being from East Troy, Wulworth County, Wisconsin working as a farmer. He as 33 in 1870 so that would put his birth year approximately at 1837. Married to Louisa, they have 3 children from 5-11 years old: Cora-Arthur-William. I hope this information helps future generations of Mr. Carver's.

This info taken from Western Pioneer Days by Ethel Rea Corbett:
Aaron Carver was born in Ohio, October 2, 1836; died near Elbert 1879. He married Louisa Foote in 1857.
The Carver's moved to Colorado in early 1864 and settled with others who had banded together but who settled on widely seperated ranches. They homesteaded three miles south of present day Elbert.
Mr. Carver became postmaster of the Gomer's Mill post office located on the Carver ranch May 25, 1879. Because of ill health he gave it up in Dec. 1879 when Jacob Epler took it over.
