Christopher was a miller, as well as a farmer, and served during the War of 1812. The family were a lifelong members of the Reformed Presbyterian Church on Rt. 214. (High Ridge United Presbyterian Church) and when that congregation dissolved, many of today's descendants became faithful members of the United Presbyterian Church of St. Clairsville.
Christopher and Sarah were the parents of nine children.
