RAASS, Lawrence A. 99, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at Oak Hill Hospital. He came to this area 30 years ago from his native Detroit, MI. He was a tool grinder for Chrysler Corp. and a charter member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law, Dr. David and Roberta Raass of Naples; daughters & son-in-law, Patricia Piecuch of Dayton, OH, Lois Simard of Petoskey, MI and Lynda and Preben Christensen of Murphy, NC; sister, Ruth Sammer of Hendersonville, NC; 12 grandchildren and 31 great-grand-children. Visitation for friends will be 12-1 pm Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel where a funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Spring Hill Christian Academy at Spring Hill Baptist Church.
