J. Frank was the son of Raymond E. Cook and Clara Marie Platt. His favorite hobbies were golf, wood refinishing and playing duplicate bridge with his wife Alice. He married Alice on December 3rd, 1949 in Harrisville, Pennsylvania and they had 2 boys and a girl.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army under General Patton in the European Theatre. After the war he served in the National Guard and he retired from the service in 1978 as a Brigadier General.
He was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service during World War II.
Other work experiences included the Ford Motor Company in Grove City, PA; the Bashline Memorial Hospital where he served as a Credit Manager and Assistant Administrator; and the PA Services Review Organization where he was the Executive Administrator.
