NEW WATERFORD Mrs Emma Jane Rupert, 88 of 45853 Route 46, died of infirmities of age ag 11:40 am Wednesday at Salem Community Hospital East Unit, where she had been a patient 10 days.
She was born Jan 24, 1890 in Davenport, Neb. the daughter of the late William and Mary Elizabeth Griffith VanSkiver. She was a member of the New Waterford Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and a member of the ladies aid society.
She was a 1908 graduate of the Kearney Normal School in Nebraska
Her husband, Willis R Rupert whom she married Feb 26, 1913, preceded her in death Tuesday.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs - William (Elverda) Baughman of New Waterord, Mrs John (Frances) Beson of Houston, Texas, and Mrs Olyn (Lois) Boyl of Alliance; four sons, Donald C, Raymond C, W Ralph and Robert E Rupert, all of New Waterford; two brothers, William VanSkiver of Hebron, Neb., and Charles VanSkiver in California; 23 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Two sisters, Miss Hattie VanSkiver and Mrs Florence Swanson, and two brothers, John and Frank Vanskiver, also preceded her in death.
Memorial services were to be held today at 2 pm at the New Waterford Presbyterian Church with Pastor Susan Haugh and the Rev. Paul Gerrard of Lisbon officiating.
Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery.
There were no calling hours.
The family requests material contributions take the form of donations to the Eastern Ohio Lung Association, Mahoning Chapter, 225 Watt St, Youngstown.
