***********************

Henry was born in Washington County to German immigrants.

In 1860, Henry shows as a 1-year-old Rampmear in Watertown, living with his parents and older siblings, Ernst William, John G., Fred F. and Lucy (called Caroline in later censuses and her death record).

In 1870, Henry was an 11-year-old living with Barlow Township neighbors of his former Watertown home while his birth family, right after his father died, was called "Rumwin" in Salem Township. His mother's brother, John Kyress, who is buried with Henry's mother, was in the house, and probably owned it before John's sister and family moved there. There were two brothers Frederick, 12/Frederic, 6 in this household.

In 1880, the household of Henry,21, and his mother also included Uncle John plus Henry's younger siblings Caroline, then 20; Rosa, then 17; Frederic [ C. not F. ], then 15; and David, then 12.
