Anna Novotny was born June 9, 1860, at Drahlicich, Czecho Slovakia, and died at her home in Narka, Kansas February 23, 1932, at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 14 days.
She came to this country with her parents in the year 1876 to DuBois, Pawnee county, Nebraska. In the year 1870 she was united in marriage to Amos Hubka and they made their home on a farm near DuBois, Nebraska where they resided 23 years. They then moved to a farm near Narka, Republic county, Kansas. In the year 1915 they moved to their present home in Narka, Kansas.
She leaves to mourn, her husband Amos Hubka of Narka, Kan.; her sons, Charley of Mahaska, Kan.; Fred, address unknown; Amos of Eagle Butte, S.D.; Bohman of Haddam, Kan.; Stanley of Narka, Kan.; August of Mahaska, Kan. and Rudolph of Pawnee City, Neb., a son Lloyd preceded her in death May 29, 1924; daughters, Emma Peterka of Narka, Kan.; Mary Beranek of Pawnee City, Neb.; Anna Cerny of Narka, Kan. and Millie Potojil of Eagle Butte, S.D.; 28 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. The brothers are Frank of Beatrice, Neb.; James of Calif.; Lewis of Narka; Anton of Barnston, Neb. and Amos of Oklahoma City, Okla. and sisters Katie Blechja of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Emma Fritz of Chicago, Ill.
She was a member of the Z.C.B.J. lodge No. 125. The funeral services were held at the home and were attended by a host of relatives and friends. Frank Doibrovotny of Pawnee City, Neb. had charge of the service. Interment was at the National Cemetery south of Narka, Kan.
