George E. Hornberger, 86, of 552 East Main Street, Hegins, died yesterday morning at the Meda Nipple Convalescent Home.
Born on Nov. 12, 1905, he was the son of the late Joseph and Gertrude Shuey Hornberger.
He was a former coal miner, retiring in 1962.
He was educated in the Barry Twp. schools and was a member of the Hepler's Church of God Church at RD 1 in Pitman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora; his daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Taiclet; and two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are four sons, Albert of Lititz, Charles of RD 1 Ashland, Robert of RD 1 Liverpool and Larry of Hegins; one daughter, Mrs. Elma Scheib of Hegins; two sisters, Hazel Lazarchick of Frederick, Md., and Mary Kehler of RD 1 Pitman; and one brother, Jonathan Hornberger of Gordon; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
