Stanley Pogue formerly of the Van Pogue and Allen legal firm in Decatur died suddenly yesterday in his home in Springfield. He graduated from the U of I in 1914 and had his law firm here from 1916 to 1929. He then joined Dent, Dobbs Freeman firm in Chicago. During his first year of practice he was associated with C. C. LeForgee. He was a member of the Stephen Decatur Masonic lodge and The Decatur Club. At the time of his death he was head of the state securities department in the secretary of states office in Springfield.
The son of John and Ellen Landen Pogue of Decatur. He was married on June 18,1915 to Miss Lois Boston at Yorkville. He leaves his wife and three children,Roger Boston Pogue Milwaukee, Wis, John Pogue stationed with the U. S. army at Chicago,Barbara Pogue, Champaign and brother Harold of Decatur.
Funeral services will be held with Dawson and burial at Greenwood cemetery.
