Passed Away at the Convent Last Sunday After a Long Illness

Sister Benedicta, who has been lying ill at the convent in this city for a long time, passed quietly away last Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. She has been suffering from a cancer, and the doctors in attendance had given up all hope of recovery some weeks ago. The funeral will take place in the chapel of the Convent this morning at 8 o'clock, the remains being interred in the Catholic cemetery. John A. Martin, James Grace, M. Dinneen, Sr., George F. Thompson will act as pallbearers.

The deceased became a nun when but 17 years of age, joining the community in Pennsylvania. Her home was at Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, and before taking the vail she was known to the world as Miss Donahue. She has been a sister of charity for twenty-seven years, the last six of which were passed in the convent at Cheyenne.
