Matilda Margaret Romaines (14 Years old) Married Samuel K. Jennings (27 years old), Feb 14, 1856, in Webberville, Texas. Where they lived for the first few years of their marriage in the 1860's they moved to Townsen's Mill in Lampasas county and homesteaded land there where they raised their family. Sam and Matilda had 14 Children with 10 living till adulthood. Matilda was widowed in 1881 at 39 years of age and outlived her husband by twelve years. She had five children ranging in age from 2 years old to thirteen at home at the time of her husbands death. Matilda never remarried and passed away 27 Mar 1893. She is buried along side her husband and they share a headstone.

The pattern of the Marble headstone makes it hard to read, and impossible to get a good photograph of, so in 2013 I did a Stone Rubbing on the headstone and is pictured in this memorial.
