The deceased was a native of East Tn. While yet an infant, her parents emigrated to Baron, now Monroe co Ky. In 1854 an accident caused the untimlely death of her husband, Robert Welch. Since then she has resided in this community, respected and beloved by all who knew her. In all the relations of life she proved herself true and faithful. As a wife, mother, neighbor and friend, she nobly met and fulfilled her obligations. Above all, she has a sincere and earnest Christian. It is needless to say that the faith so long cherished in life sustained and comforted her in her dying hour. She leaves six children, forty grandchildren, and several great grand children, besides other relatives and a hosts of friends to morn her departure. But they feel a most confident assurance that their loss is her eternal gain. May they all imitate her faith and piety, and finally greet her on the "evergreen shore" where "no farewell is spoken".
