Blawenburg is believed by local historians to have been named for Michael Blaw and/or his mill
that he built on his property on the Beden's brook stream near the west boundary of his land.
Son of John Blaw and Margart (Marytje/Grietje)Michael and his 1st wife Helen (Elinor) Vanbarkeloo are buried in blue-Nevious or Blaw-Nevious Cemetery , which is located in the west half of John Blaw's plantation, the part he sold to his son Frederick. Michael's Will was writtten Sept 2
1782 and proved on jan 26 1786 in Somerset Co. NJ.
