John M. Boyd
John M. Boyd, retired bookkeeper of Myrtle Beach died at his home after 5:30 pm July 5 after a long illness.
Mr. Boyd was born in Horry County October 17, 1888, a son of the late John Lafayette and Nancy Gause Boyd. He was employed by the South Carolina Public Service (Santee Cooper) authority until his health failed in 1945. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conway and of Conway Lodge of Masons and was recently awarded to a 25 year pin.
Surviving are his widow,Mrs. Mamie Burroughs Boyd; a daughter Mrs. G. L. Carroll of Conway; two sons, John Henry Boyd and Thomas G. Boyd of Myrtle Beach; a brother Olin Boyd of near Loris; a sister Mrs. Stanley Mishoe of near Loris, and three grandchildren.
