Charlotte Walker Breindel, 81, of 139 Lynch Road, St. Marys, died on
Saturday at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, following a
lengthy illness.
She was born July 13, 1925, in Wellington, Texas, daughter of the late Leon
Carson and Ollie Mignon Cobble Walker.
On Jan. 13, 1945, in the Immaculate Conception Church in Tyler, Texas, she
married Jerome J. Breindel, who survives.
She grew up in Dialville, Texas, and graduated from the Dialville High
School in 1942, and moved to St. Marys after her marriage in 1945. She was a
member of the St. Mary's Church, the St. Marys Senior Center and the Altar
Society of the St. Mary's Church.
Beside her husband she is survived by a daughter, Patricia, (Dave) Kephart
of St. Marys, four sons, Joseph J. (Joan Sheehan) Breindel of Old Saybrook,
CT; Father Charles L. Breindel of Danville, VA; Jerome D. (Shirley Fitch)
Breindel of St. Marys; Eugene F. (Roseann Ranno) Breindel of Kersey; 12
grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Lawler of
Arlington, TX; and two brothers, J. Daniel (Vada Tipton) Walker and C. Lewis
(Annette Betts) Walker both of Arlington, TX.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon (Thelma
Jenkins) Walker and Jack Walker Cpl. (KIA 10/4/1943, Salerno, IT) .
A Mass of Christian Burial for Charlotte Breindel will be celebrated in the
St. Mary's Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Charles L. Breindel,
her son, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Center St., today from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
