Mrs. Emma Weitz, 74, Tuscumbia, died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at Humphreys Hospital in Tuscumbia after a short illness. She was admitted to the hospital Sunday.
Mrs. Weiss was born Emma Ella DeMott, daughter of Peter and Susie Ellen DeMott, Jan. 26, 1881, in Miller County. She was married Dec. 24, 1902, to Wes Weitz, who survives.
She is also survived by a son, James Wesley Weitz, Tuscumbia; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Chapman, Henley, and Mrs. Hester Wyrick, Jefferson City; two brothers, James DeMott, Eldon and Albert DeMott of Arizona; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Tuscumbia Christian Church, the Rev. John Jenkins officiating, with burial in the Tuscumbia Cemetery.
