Addie Mae Wilson of Tulsa went home to be with Jesus on Monday, April 7, 2003 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, at the age of 73. She was born on July 9, 1929 in Sperry, Oklahoma to Joseph and Addie Jane (Nichols) Hudson. She was a 1947 Sperry High School graduate and has spent most of her lifetime in the Tulsa area. Mae married Jake E. Wilson on May 7, 1948 in Tulsa sharing 54 years together. She had worked years ago at the Daylight Donuts at different locations. She decided to become an Avon representive where she could be her own boss, work out of her home and visit with others. She sold Avon for over 25 years, collecting various Avon bottles and cars and various keepsakes. Mae use to sing and play the piano, she taught herself by ear. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mae was very proud of her family. Her health made it difficult for her to get out and be around the activities, but she gave it her best even when she didn't feel up to it. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brother and 1 sister. Mae is survived by her husband; Jake of the home; Three daughters: Patti Mercer and her husband Jerry of Houston, Texas Kathy Twilling and her husband Ed of Tulsa Darla McFarland and her husband John of Tulsa Two brothers; Walton Hudson and Floyd Hudson Both Of Skiatook; Three sisters: Rosie Coombes of Hobbs, New Mexico, Ruby Caffey of Owasso and Iva Wilson of Turley. Seven grandchildren: Mike Mercer, Angie Linnell, T. C. and Jerry McCord, Brandy Kueneman, Ricky Twilling and Kristi McFarland. Four Great-Grandchildren, numerous other family members and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, April 11, 2003, at the Freewill Baptist Church in Wagoner, Oklahoma with Reverends Jimmy Layne and Connie Cariker officiating. Interment will be held at Floral Haven Cemetery Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Funeral services are under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home and Crematory, Wagoner, Ok.
