Kemp
On February 27th, 1874, of Pnumonia, Mrs. Mattie S. Kemp, aged 30 years, wife of John D. Kemp, and daughter of John Craghead.
She leaves four small children and many relatives and friends to mourn her early death. She believed in Christ, and "Whosoever believeth in Him, though he were dead, yet he shall live."
O, do not mourn the sainted dead, the Savior takes away,
But let us live to work for Christ, while yet 'tis called to-day,
For this our lives are lengthened out, for this our time is given,
That broken ties and friendships here, may be rewarded in heaven.
